Oh noes! The shock! The horror! Today is 6/6/6.
In the New Testament, Revelation 13:16-18 states:

"Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell who does not have the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom: let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number. Its number is six hundred and sixty-six."

So there you have it, number of the beast. Western societies commonly see it as the number of the Devil. So will we face the Devil's wrath today and enter a new dark era? Ha! Well the sun is shining over here, so I have my sincere doubts :D

Anyhow, we use the Gregorian calendar, which was starting to be implemented in the 16th century. The Bible however was, let's say, written a few years ahead of that. On top of that the new calendar system is filled with flaws. Check the link for extensive information. So even if 666 was meant to be a date, it would not be today.

The plot thickens...
Now let's have a look at this thing called the Devil. It is mentioned in the Bible as a fallen angel. Christianity used a mindset of duality: good and evil, God & the Devil. What they didn't tell you is the reason they did this: it was to control people by scaring them of all evil, the Devil and Hell. This was a walk in the park to do in that period of time. Nowadays, Christianity has lost it's control to some extent, fortunately.

666, Devil, today? I don't think so ;)
